Fredrik Thege currently works on several research projects involving capture of rare cell populations relevant cancer diagnostics and metastasis in the microfluidic GEDI device. The largest focus of Fredrik’s research is on the development of diagnostic biomarkers for the detection of early pancreatic carcinogenesis. Fredrik is also developing a microfluidic methodology for capturing circulating progenitor cells, useful as predictive biomarkers of breast cancer relapse/progression

Biography

Fredrik Thege joined the Micro/Nanofluidics Laboratory in September 2011. Fredrik holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Lund University, Sweden. During his MS Fredrik studied at both University of California, Irvine and École Normale Supérieure, Paris. In his Master Thesis Fredrik worked on microfluidic generation of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUV) for application as models for cells.
