Biography

Ian began his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Fall 2012, and is currently a fourth year undergraduate pursuing a bachelors in biological engineering and a minor in business. Ian joined the Kirby Research Group in the Fall 2013. He works with PhD candidate Fredrik Thege on studying the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and gemcitabine resistance and its propagation in pancreatic cancer. This work is not only important for the capture of circulating tumor cells but could answer critical, underlying biological questions surrounding pancreatic cancer and its treatment.
